SmartGlass unveiled by Microsoft for Xbox

So finally, E3 2012 has commenced in Los Angeles and one of the first unveiling at the event was done by none other than Microsoft. The company unveiled SmartGlass which is a software that they have developed.

The basic function of this software is that it will give the users a provision to stream as well as share various contents across Tablets, Smartphones and TVs. Another statement given by Microsoft highlighted the prospects of bringing Internet Explorer to the console and that too, this fall.

Earlier, a demo of SmartGlass was given to the people and all the features were highlighted. They had showcased how a Smartphone could be converted to a remote control and then used for web-surfing on TV.

Microsoft has revealed that they will be releasing the software for Windows 8, Windows phones and other devices which are portable.

This feature by Microsoft bears resemblance to Wii U by Nintendo. Microsoft is coming up with a range of updates that they will be providing to their customers and the announcements regarding such were made at the recently commenced E3 2012.

The prospects of Microsoft are high and since the coming of Halo 4 at E3, the brand value has only shot up.
