Microsoft can have the name Xbox 8

Microsoft had filed a case in May against a cyber squatter stating that it has already used the web address with the name Xbox 8. The complaint was registered at the National Arbitration Forum which handles various international business disputes.

The forum gave the judgment in the favor of Microsoft where the company had filed a complaint against a Chinese national who has applied for domain names like XboxPhone.com, XboxTablet.com, XboxLiveTV.com, XboxCompanion.com, Xbox8.us and Xbox8.org.

The Tech site Fusible reports that these domain names mentioned above were to be transferred to Microsoft in late June and the two separate panels found that the person who had applied for these domain names has done that with some malafide intentions.

Next year Microsoft is going to come out with its next Xbox gaming console and the game lovers and analysts are wondering if Microsoft is going to use the name Xbox 8 for it.

Last month, there was a leakage of a 56-page document of Microsoft which contained the plans for the next console of Microsoft and it was referred with the name Xbox 720. This Xbox 720 utilizes the Xbox SmartGlass system and will have new hardware to run the Kinect motion-recognition system.
