Flextronics Might Be Working On Xbox 720

Flextronics is apparently working with Microsoft on a brand new project which is most likely to be the next generation of Microsoft’s Xbox gaming console. The Austin, Texas-based company has supposedly assigned a complete new testing team for the special assignment, and the interesting part is that these employees are working on the project in a very discreet manner which is raising eyebrows. Put two and two together and you’ll arrive at the same conclusion as many- the project might very well be the new Xbox.

Moreover, Flextronics played a major role in the development of the original Xbox and its successor, the Xbox 360. So it is very likely that it has been included to fulfill a key role in the development process of the new Xbox. But hold your horses- just because this news has arrived a month before E3 doesn’t mean that you should get your hopes up.

Microsoft has already assured the media that there will be no news about a potential Xbox 720 at next month’s E3. Moreover, the work which is being carried out at Flextronics is probably in its very early phases.

Even if it is involved in the next Xbox, Flextronics is mostly likely just helping out in the development of prototype models which will be built upon by Microsoft’s best developers. Bottomline- there is a long wait before any kind of retail model will be finalised.
